Hello

Recently returned home from our extended trip of India/Sri Lanka, which included the Footprint Tiger Trail in the first half of February.

Have to say that we had a fantastic experience, esp in Bandhavgarh, the lodge was very good, welcoming and attentive staff without being over the top, excellent food, bonfire & biscuits after the afternoon game drives was particularly nice, and morning brunches were the best we had in India. We were very lucky to have superb viewings of the dominant male, B2, courting one of his ladies on the roadway within 15metres of 'our' gypsy, incl scent marking and sparring, together with several sightings of other tigers. Our driver, Dino, was very knowledgeable as were the local park guides.

We were not so lucky in Kanha, weather had turned cold and wet, and although we had two tiger sightings, they were very much an anti climax after Bandhavgarh. Pradeep, our guide in Kanha, was very much into birds which suited us as we were able to identify a good number of the colourful birds with his help.

The only thing that we were not too happy about at the time was at the start of our trip when we were taken to the railway station in Delhi, our first experience of Indian trains. The driver would not leave the car to help us find the correct platform for our train, but luckily we found a very helpful porter who not only took us to the platform, but found the correct carriage and seats for us as well, well worth his tip.

All in all a very enjoyable trip that we would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Best Regards

Malcolm & Linda Andrews, Lichfield, Staffs.

Subject: Trek and Tiger safari

Dear George, Jane, Sandra

Many many thanks  for a superbly organised (despite the Indian railway, and pothole ravaged roads) trip to the sub-continent. We all had a fantastic time. Our guide on the trek Sunder Kapoor led us with enthusiasm and humour and the porters were a joy to be with. I think on reflection the countryside was prettier than I remember in Nepal(Annapurna Sanctuary), some of the alpine meadows reminded me very much of Austria/Switzerland and the wild life was in abundance.

The Tiger safari was everything I wanted and getting up close to the animals was an experience I shall never forget. We saw enough of the tigers in what seemed to be a very sympathetically managed park. The other bird/mammal/reptile life in the park was also superb, but I am afraid nothing matched the view or the anticipation of the view of what can only be described as the King of the cats! Sanjiv was a delightful host and obviously very passionate about his work.

Again many thanks and I hope Jane is coping well.

Regards

Martin Gibbs

My name is Eric Lon: I am a French masseur physiotherapist used to trek for more than thirty years in different parts of the world.

Two days ago, I was trekking in the Dhauladhar Mountains, around Dharamsala, India. I met a group of four UK tourists, your customers. They are very pleased of their trek with your organisation, as well as the reception at Delhi airport, their trip by train…

I am not pleased of the organisation of my trip by a local agency in Dharamsala, Mcleodganj. If you could give me the contact phone and Email of your correspondent in Mcleodganj, I would be pleased to contact him immediately.

Have a look to my website www.voyager-en-forme.comEnglish version: www.travel-healthy.com, and more than 300 photos on Flickr.

Have also a look to my two previous websites which have an English version: www.randomassage.fr, www.yogatrekking.com

My concept is to be “Healthy guide” available for trekkers, to provide them healthy practical teaching during a trek. I am the only French certified masseur physiotherapist doing that.

If this concept seems interesting for some of your customers, we may cooperate on a professional level.

Tiger Trail

The tour was excellent, plenty of tigers and the return train only one hour late into Delhi.

Hi Jane & George,

It is just over a week since we returned from our trip to India & then to Mauritius and we wanted to say thank you for organising a really wonderful trip. To have seen so many tigers was a real bonus at the end of a memorable holiday. There were only a few very minor hitches but these were dealt with in a typical Indian way that we need to accept whilst travelling in their Country.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & would be happy to recommend you to others as need arises.

Best wishes for a very happy Christmas & a peaceful New year Pat & Roger

Hi Jane
Thanks for that - I'm still travelling in Argentina for another few weeks. I had a great trek - 5 great days and 3 days of rain \ snow so I can't complain.
Thanks again for organising the trekking.
Cheers
Graham

Subject: Photographs from trek for villagers?

Hi

This is a very belated offer, apologies. My wife and I booked “The Valleys and Flowers of Lahaul” trek through your company. During the trek, which, incidentally, we very much enjoyed, we took lots of photos, including some of the guides and some of the people of the villages through which we passed.

If we provided you with copies of the “people” pictures, would you be able to arrange that they be taken on a subsequent trek so that they might be distributed to those persons who recognize themselves – bit of a long shot I realize as in most case I wouldn’t be able to be sure which village they were from.

The holiday was very enjoyable and the safari in both Kaziranga and Khana excellent. Both guides excellent and deserve a special mention.

Subject: Thank you

Dear Jane,

Just a quick e-mail to say thank you, and all involved with Footprint, for your fabulous services in organising our trip to India over Christmas and New Year.

It was all that we had hoped for and so much more besides. With so many individual internal journeys, drivers, guides and accommodation to organise we were amazed at how everything came together so faultlessly. It was a fantastic adventure and so lovely to have been able to do it with a small group of like-minded friends, whilst meeting so many charming people. (Special mention for Rocket Singh at the Royal Tiger Resort in Bandhavgarh and Dr. Shailesh Tripathi in Varanasi - both of whom were so kind to us.)

You may be interested to see some web pages I have put up on my site (one of my many hobbies); if these are of any help to your future customers, feel free to point them in that direction. I have put a link to you at the bottom of the introduction page and on the photo gallery index.

Thanks again and hope to be in touch in the future to seek your help once more.

With very best wishes,

RE: A SELECTED TOUR OF INDIA

We have just returned from our break in India and I think I speak for whole group when stating that it was absolutely fantastic. Obviously we can’t credit you with all the wonderful sights & people that we encountered on our travels, however the standard of accommodation/transfers was excellent. The quality of the hotels certainly exceeded our expectations and whenever we stepped off a plane or train, a representative greeted us within seconds! The whole experience was all very effortless & slick when compared to previous similar holidays.

Considering the quality of the tour package and the overall cost, it represented exceptional value for money – Thank you.

I have just returned from your Tiger and Forts Tour of India. I write to compliment you and Footprints. The organisation was flawless. At every stage we were met on time and the program ran seamlessly. With the exception of a single guide (who I would rate as average), all others were excellent. Without exception we were treated like honoured guests. Your in-bound ground operators were consistently helpful and even phoned on four or five occasions to check in. Wonderful. My complements. We saw fourteen tigers!

Jane,

Terribly sorry, appeared to have mislaid the Survey report, but hope this answer can act in its place.

The organisation was very good indeed. At each spot there was someone to greet us, without us having to seek them out at all. Shalini was very friendly and organised the re-confirming of our return flights. Sanjeev was very knowledgeable and a good companion on the game drives. He also exceeded what I would have considered a manager's responsibility - on the last day, Peter wasn't well. Unknown to us Sanjeev phoned ahead to the Krishna Hotel in Napier to inform them, and when we reached there they enquired whether Peter would require a doctor. A personal touch, much appreciated.
We had one breakdown between the parks, but this was hardly surprising given the state of the roads, and the driver was very concerned and really worked hard at getting us to a town with phones, shelter and food. A replacement vehicle was with us within 2 hours, and given our previous experiences in India (albeit over a decade ago now) we were impressed.
At both game parks the food was excellent and plenty of it. The staff at Bandhavgarh were particularly friendly. The nature films at Kanha a good idea for the evenings. The hotels in Dehli were well chosen, one near to the airport for our late arrival on day one; and one very centrally to enjoy a day in Dehli on our return.

In summary, I would recommend this Trip and your company to anyone.

Thank you
Kris & Peter Blood.

Dear Jane,
Having just returned from India and your Tiger Trail Safari, I would just like to let you know how fantastic this trip was and far exceeded my expectations. I was a little apprehensive about taking the train journey, but there was no need to worry. The sightings of tigers was incredible - 21 sightings, 11 different tigers (16 sightings (6 different tigers) in Bandhavgarh and 5 different sightings tigers in Kanha). On top of that 76 species of birds! The lodges you use are of a very high standard and very friendly. I was impressed at the high quality of the trip for the amount we paid (we have seen similar tours for double the price!!). We had real value for money. I would like to thank you for making this trip so special.

Dear Jane:

The above couple left India this morning and gave the following remarks.

" Mr. Ashu Choudhry provided us with the most excellent guidance and service throughout two weeks in India.

He has watched over us like a guardian angel and absolutely everything happened perfectly.

He appears to know everyone who has been able to give us the best service wherever we have been. We could not have asked
for more or better.

Many thanks..........sd/ Colin and Sonia Smith, Reading England."
