Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive Quito and transfer
to your Hotel (twin sharing)
Day 2
Transfer from Quito by car to our
first trekking stage from los chillos valley chilcabamba in the north part of
the Cotopaxi National Park. With incredible views of the high Andes we will
camp below the loreto valley at the north entrance of the Cotopaxi national park
at 3450m. (5 hrs trek time) (B,L,D)
Day 3
Today we trek from chilcababmba to
el salado over night at tambopaxi mountain lodge camp at 3750m. (6 hrs trek
time) (B,L,D)
Day 4 High spectacular trek to
the cotopaxi glaceirs at 5000 6hrs trek m high
after lunch transfer to one of
the most beautiful haciendas in Ecuador ‘’La Cienega’’ which is more of 350
years old. (B,L
Day 5
After breakfast we visit one of typical indigenous markets of the region,
(Tuesdays Latacunga, Thursdays Saquisili, Sundays Pujili). Later in the
afternoon we will visit the fascinating region of Zumbahua and the colorful lake
of Quilotoa at 3900m. We overnight at Quilotoa village in a basic lodge. (B,D)
Day 6
Transfer to Rio Blanco for our 4 days adventures crossing of the unique
Chimborazo National Park. Here it is possible to see a Vicuña, a typical animal
of the high lands of South America. Chimborazo at 6310m is the highest mountain
in Ecuador. The highest point of our trek will be the flat glacier of the
Carihuirazo volcano at 4600. Today’s trek to the first camp at 4200m will only
take approximately 2 hrs. (B,L,D)
Day 7
Today will be one of the hardest days of the trek as we pass the Carihuirazo
glaciers at 4600 on our way to the Mayahuasca camp at 4200. (7hrs trek time). (B,L,D)
Day 8
We continue our trek to the
Chimborazo Glaciers at 4600m and and return to camp at 4200m. (6hrs trek time).

Day 9
From Mayahuasca we continue to La
Estacion at 3600m and transfer to Baños City at 1800m for our overnight stay in
a lodge. (7hrs trek time). (B,L)
Day 10.
Rest day in Baños City. (B)
Day 11-13 The Altar trek.
The Altar trek is only available from October to February, from July to
September we offer the Inca Trek of Cuenca as an alternative.
A 3 days trek in the old collapsed
caldera of this spectacular snow caped volcano to the beginning of the glaciers
at 4600m. We will spend 2 nights at the Collanes valley camp at 3850m. This will
be our base camp for our adventures 2 nights. The region is one of the wonders
of hidden Ecuador and habitat of the last condors. On the last day we overnight
in Banos city. All meals included except for dinner on the last night in Banos.
Day 14
Explore the surrounding area close
to Banos city. In the afternoon drive back to Quito. (B)
Day 15
Transfer to airport for departure. (B)
