Fire-flies congregate in huge numbers on certain species of mangrove trees.
Their synchronized flashing, lights up these trees like Christmas trees.
We depart Kuala Lumpur late afternoon & drive up to the coastal town of Kuala
Selangor. Here we will make a brief visit to the Kuala Selangor Nature Park &
then on to Pasir Penambang (a traditional Chinese fishing village partially
build on wooden silts). This village is the centre of the local fishing
industry. We will visit a local wet market where you can see fisherman bring in
their catch of prawns, crabs, squids, fish, shell fish, etc, etc. for sale.
After a sumptuous sea-food dinner at one of the local restaurants we will
drive up to the fire flies site at Kampong Kuantan. Here we will board small
wooden paddle boats & slip silently into the mangrove to view the spectacular
firefly display. This is one of the few places in the world where fire flies
congregate & synchronize their flashing, lighting up the trees.
