Payah Indah Wetland located about 30 mins drive from the Kuala Lumpur
International Airport & about an hour from Kuala Lumpur, is an extensive area of
wetlands of varying types – liliy ponds, open waters, scrub, open country, fresh
water swamps, etc. etc. rich in birdlife. Certain birds eg. Cotton Pgymy-Goose,
Lesser Whistling-Duck, Zitting Cisticolas, & Crakes are easier seen here than in
many of the other regular birdwatching sites.
COASTAL MANGROVE,
located about 40 mins drive from Payah Indah Wetlands – for sps such as the
Mangrove Whistler, Blue Flycatcher & Pitta, Pink-necked Pigeons, Laced, Common
Golden-backed, Brown-capped Woodpeckers, Flyeaters, Copper-throated &
Purple-throated Sunbirds, etc. etc.
