Peru Adventure - Rainbow Peru
On this trip we will visit colonial and modern Lima, and fly over
the Nazca lines and visit the National Marine Reserve in Paracas. Travel to the
amazon basin rainforest to a lodge on a dug out canoe, and walk rainforest
trails. Visit Cusco the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the famed citadel of
Machu Picchu.
Day 1 LIMA (Friday)
Arrival and transportation to your hotel. If you arrive early we can arrange
optional tours to museums or to visit the city and surrounding sites. Overnight
at hotel, lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 2 ICA/NAZCA (Saturday)
Early departure by coach to Ica – the comfortable bus will bring you to this
desert city traversing various lush valleys that cut through the Atacama desert.
Arrival and check-in at your hotel. Afternoon optional flight over the Nazca
lines. Lunch and dinner on your own, overnight at hotel.
Day 3 PARACAS/LIMA (Sunday)
After breakfast a vehicle will take you to the National Reserve of Paracas, the
only marine protected area. A chance to take a boat ride to Islas Ballestas, a
small island teeming with marine bird life as well as sea-lions. After lunch the
bus will take us to Lima. Overnight at hotel, dinner on your own.
Day 4-5 PUERTO MALDONADO (Monday-Wednesday)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado in the rainforest of
Southeastern Peru. Meet and greet at airport and canoe transport to your lodge.
There are various options for lodges in the area, according to space
availability we will send you to one of the three options that we work with, all
offering an exceptional rainforest experience. Most entail orientation talks on
arrival, walks through trails in the forest led by naturalist guides, night time
excursions on dug-out canoes, float rides to watch fauna on the shore line and
in the canopy layers. All meals are included as well as transportation in
vehicles and canoes. On the third day you will be transferred to the airport for
your flight to Cusco.
Day 6 CUSCO (Wednesday)
On
arrival in the course of the morning from Puerto Maldonado, you will be
transferred to a hotel, rest of the morning free to acclimatize, lunch on your
own. Afternoon tour of the city and nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko,
Tambomachay and visit the main sites in the city – Inca temples and colonial
churches. Overnight at hotel, dinner on your own.
Day 7 SACRED VALLEY / OLLANTAYTAMBO (Thursday)
Full day excursion to visit the main sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas
with guided tours of the archaeological remains. Lunch on route, and overnight
at a local hotel, dinner on your own. Depending on hotel availability additional
activities can be organized from some of the country inns.
Day 8 MACHU PICCHU (Friday)
Early transfer from your hotel to the train station in the Sacred Valley, for
your two hour ride down the Urubamba gorge as it changes from mountain
vegetation to cloud forest, arrival at the station of Machu Picchu Pueblo. A bus
ride will bring you to the citadel for a full day guided visit, with lunch
included and afternoon return to the village where we will spend the night at a
local hotel, dinner on your own. (Luxury hotel option available).
Day 9 MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO (Saturday)
Early rise for those who want an optional visit to the ruins. The other option
is to stay around the village and undertake shopping, relax in your hotel room
or take a walk in the surrounding cloud-forest. Lunch on your own. Afternoon
train return to Cusco, where we will arrive in the evening. Transfer to your
hotel, dinner on your own.
Day 10 CUSCO/OUT(Sunday)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your ongoing connecting flight to
another destination inside the region or back home.
SERVICES INCLUDED: Transfers, transportation by vehicle
for organized tours, lodges in the Amazon and all meals, hotels with breakfast,
tours as mentioned, lunches on full day excursions and entrance fees to all
sites (except second optional entrance to Machu Picchu (day 9 - US $ 20) and
bilingual guide.

beverages, extras, tips, taxes, laundry service, additional tours, insurance and
