Itinerary:
Grasp ideas to understand Thailand and be a
helpful volunteer. Various projects are offered to suit your wishes and skills.
Enjoy your travelling while helping those who are less fortunate is an
invaluable experience of worthy holidays to be remembered for a life time.
Day 1: Bangkok – arrival transfer
(B/-/-)
Arrival and joint-transfer. Our well experienced guide will
provide you with some useful tips for exploring the city and give you ideas of
what you could do on your tour.
Your accommodation may be with a Thai family, home-stay style,
the project’s guest house or at a simple guesthouse that is located nearest to
the chosen project. This depends on project that you choose however our first
preference will be to provide you with a Thai family for home stay. Meals will
be included with home stay accommodation as you will eat with the members of
your family; with guesthouse accommodation only breakfast is included.
Day 2: Bangkok – an orientation tour – learn Thai
(B/-/-)
Today is a tour on foot! The aim is to ensure that you see as
much as possible of the everyday life of Bangkok and its people, and what better
way to do that than to combine your walk with as many different modes of public
transport as possible. Stops on the tour will normally include some interesting
temples, a flower market and Little India or Chinatown.
Then spend time to learn Thai in an informal atmosphere. You will
have lessons that start with simple words and conversation, just enough to get
by, and then more specific words that you will need according to the project you
are joining. Then go out to try it in real-life situations, such as a local
market, taking your own transport and trying to bargain for things by yourself.
Days 3-13: Being a helpful volunteer
(B/-/-)
Each program will give you the opportunity to
offer your love and care to those who do not have enough. Choice of projects
includes:
§
Giving your love to orphans at
an orphanage house.
§
At a home for handicapped and
disabled children volunteers are always needed and there are never enough.
§
Giving your time to help blind
children learn English or catch up with their lessons or making sound books for
the library of the Foundation for the Blind.
§
Giving your love to the sick
children in the wards of the Children’s Hospital
Remark:
Unlike tourist attractions, the activities of community services
projects may vary considerably. Therefore we reserve right to adjust the program
or even change the location, even after we have advised a confirmation, due to
the above reason which is unforeseen. However the same concept will be well
maintained.
We offer the services of coordinating staff to take care of your
needs, questions or any problems. The coordinator will be with you during the
first day of orientation and keep in touch with you to ensure smooth operation
and give you assistance.
You will need to travel by yourself from your accommodation to
the chosen project by public transport and take care of expenses yourself. The
staff coordinator will be with you until you are confident about travelling on
your own. We will select accommodation that is nearest or most convenient for
getting to the project site.
You
will be free during weekends and public holidays. The coordinator will help you
with information to plan your own travelling during this free time.
