We have a range of trekking
tours available for you to choose from that have been specifically designed to
enable you to experience some of the very best landscape and scenery that
Vietnam has to offer. During the treks you will have the opportunity to sleep in
bamboo huts in an ethnic minority village or under the stars in a tent or in a
local family house.
Most of our treks start with
a drive to take us out of town to where the real adventure starts. Your English
speaking, Vietnamese guide will be able to answer questions about the
countryside as well as local ethnic minority cultures and customs. During the
treks you will only have to carry a small daypack with your personal belongings
and of course your camera. Porters from the Black H’Mong ethnic minority hill
tribe will carry the rest of your luggage in special watertight bags.

What to expect:
On this trip you will trek along
Muong Hoa River sneaking through the valley nearby Sapa town, which is
surrounded by huge rice paddy terraces.
On the way you will
learn more about how is the rice cultivating, from when the seed sowed to
harvested, until being served as cooked rice on your dinner table.
The night you spend in Tavan village, the unique village in Sapa area where Giay
minority live, will be an excellent experience.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa - Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho – Tavan (L,D)
You first sneak through the market and leave the
busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, you will follow a road going
downhill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric
station for a while before you trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces.
You will also enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You
eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can
take a rest while you are served lunch nearby the river.
After lunch, you head Muong Hoa valley. You will
pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of
Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You will spend the
night in local house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy
the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby.

Day 2: Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan
(B,L)
Once you get energy for your last day trek by
having a delicious breakfast, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao
minority. You will trek through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien
National Park. On the way you will pass by a waterfall where you will have time
to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings. You will find a nice place to enjoy
lunch.
After lunch, you continue toward Su Pan, a small
village located by the road. Here you start your journey back to Sapa by car.

(Sapa - Su
Pan – Ban Ho – Thanh Phu – Sin Chai - Sapa)
What to expect:
On this trip you will have
opportunity to meet several different minorities, which cannot be found in other
areas of Sapa, such as Tay and Xa Pho. Even though they live close to each
other, the Tay is one of the most advanced minority meanwhile the Xa Pho still
maintain the tradition of being nomadic. You will also enjoy beautiful landscape
in Ban Ho valley.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa - Ban Ho - Thanh Phu -
Sin Chai (L,D)
The day commences with a drive to the trekking
route. The trek starts by walking through the incredibly scenic “Ban Ho”
valley. Here you will have the opportunity to visit and explore the wooden
houses, which traditionally belong to the Tay ethnic minority. You will then
continue to walk to Thanh Phu village where you stop for lunch in a local house.
After lunchtime, you head to Sin Chai village of
Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo huts. You will be
attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.

hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Day 2: Sin Chai - Nam Nhiu - My
Son - Nam Toong – Sapa (B,L)
You start the trek today by
walking downhill toward the My Son village, which belongs to the Xafo ethnic
minority, one of the smallest group’s
ethnic in Northern Vietnam. After one and a half hours walk to the Red Dao
village of Nam Toong, lunch will be prepared and served. After lunch you will
descend back to Ban Ho village, where you will be able to enjoy a swim at the
nearby beautiful waterfall of La Vie. You will then ascend to Su Pan, where the
car is waiting to take you back to Sapa.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 1 hour driving/ 5 hours
walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Note: The walk from Ban Ho to
Thanh Phu and Sin Chai
is mostly on the main dirt road.
Sapa valley to
Lao Cai, ref. T2C
(Sapa
- Thanh Phu – Sin Chai – Ben Den – Lao Cai)
What to expect:
The trip takes you to one of the
most remote area where you can meet very friendly locals. The night you spend in
bamboo hut built by Topas in the hilly ground of a Red Dao family will be a good
experience. The trip also offers you opportunity to enjoy wonderful scenery,
which is still well protected.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa - Ban Ho - Thanh Phu - Sin Chai (L,D)
The day commences with a drive to the trekking
route. The trek starts by walking through the incredibly scenic “Ban Ho” valley.
Here you will have the opportunity to visit and explore the wooden houses, which

Day 2: Sin Chai – Ben Den – Lao Cai (B,L)
After a good sleep in bamboo hut, you wake up
for an early breakfast and repack your luggage for the long trek heading toward
Lao Cai. Once you leave Sin Chai, the trip takes you into a fabulously
mountainous area, the most remote part of Sapa. En route you meet children’
curious eyes as you are very first tourists passing by. Red Dao ethnic minority
inhabits the entire area. You will enjoy the fresh of bamboo forest and jungle
until you make a stop at Nam Ket for lunch.
After lunch, your trek will be mostly downhill.
After about half an hour, you will have an opportunity to enjoy one of the most
beautiful views of days over a green valley lying along the Red River. You
eventually arrive in Ta Thang village of Tay minority. Here you will be
transferred by car to Lao Cai, where you will start your onward journey.
Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 45 minute driving/ 7.5
hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Note: The first day will mostly be spent on
the dirt road. This trip will easily combine with the transfer to Lao Cai
railway station without repeating the way or passing by Sapa.
Hidden trail to a village of
Red Dao, ref T2D
(Sapa - Mong
Sen – Taphin – Matra – Suoi Ho - Sapa)
What to expect:
You will trek through beautiful landscape. You
will be able to meet the Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities living in the same
village and hear about their unmixed culture.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa – Mong Sen – Taphin (L,D)
We will first travel by car downhill to Mong Sen,
where you start trekking uphill through a mountainous area by following a dirt
trail. En route, you will have many opportunities to enjoy spectacular view over
rice paddy terraces and cornfields. You will take a stop for lunch at a nice
spot.
After lunch, the trek will continue by going
downhill toward Taphin village where you can meet Red Dao and Black Hmong
minorities, two largest ethnic groups in Sapa. Your guide will tell you about
daily life and tradition of these two people. Here you stay overnight in local
house. You will be able to take a walk around the village while your guide
prepares dinner

Day 2: Taphin - Matra - Sapa (B,L)
Once your breakfast finished, you will be
heading toward Sapa. You will pass through several minority villages along the
way. The walk through rice paddy terraces is very enjoyable. You then stop by
Matra village of Black Hmong, where your lunch will be served atop a hill.
After lunch, you take a walk under the shadow of
pine trees as well as a short walk from side to side of the town of Sapa

Note:
This is a soft trek and not touristy.
Lu minority and limestone
valleys, ref.
T2E
(Sapa – Binh Lu – Ban Hon – Tam
Duong - Sapa)
What to expect:
On this trip you will enjoy landscapes, which
varies from temperate mountain to Limestone Mountain. The trip also offers you
an opportunity of getting experience about Lu minority emigrating from the
neighbor country of Laos.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa - Tam Duong - Ban Hon (L,D)
You will start early heading
uphill to Heavens Gate Pass by car, where you will make a stop and enjoy the
views from atop the pass. From there, you will then drive downhill on the zigzag
mountain paved road to Tam Duong. Upon arrival in Tam Duong, the car turn into a
dirt road which leads to Duy Phong, where the walk start. You will follow tea
fields to a viewpoint from where you have a fantastic view down to the valley.
The area you are walking in this morning is a wide valley, spotted with
limestone hills wherever you look. You will pass through several villages of
Flower Hmong and Giay minorities where you can stop for lunch in local house.
After lunch you continue towards the village of
Ban Giang, which is around 1.5 hours away. The Giay people also inhabit Ban
Giang. You will then follow a small but good trail to the Lu village of Ban Hon,
where you will stay overnight in a local house. You will enjoy dinner in the
house, and taste, together with the family of the house, how rice wine tastes in
this area of Vietnam.

Day 2: Ban Hon - Binh Lu - Sapa (B,L)
You wake up to the sound of pigs, chickens and
dogs. The family is already preparing for today’s work. Today’s walk will be a
few hours shorter than yesterday, passing some other Giay and Lu ethnic minority
villages, but still the surrounding landscape will be magnificent.
After having lunch at a beautiful spot next to a
small river, you will arrive in Binh Lu, where the car is waiting to transfer
you back to Sapa. You will have the opportunity to have a break at the famous
Heavens Gate and Silver Waterfall, before arriving in Sapa in the afternoon.
