We have a range of trekking
tours available for you to choose from that have been specifically designed to
enable you to experience some of the very best landscape and scenery that
Vietnam has to offer. During the treks you will have the opportunity to sleep in
bamboo huts in an ethnic minority village or under the stars in a tent or in a
local family house.
Most of our treks start with
a drive to take us out of town to where the real adventure starts. Your English
speaking, Vietnamese guide will be able to answer questions about the
countryside as well as local ethnic minority cultures and customs. During the
treks you will only have to carry a small daypack with your personal belongings
and of course your camera. Porters from the Black H’Mong ethnic minority hill
tribe will carry the rest of your luggage in special watertight bags.

(Sapa - Ban
Ho - Thanh Phu – Sin Chai - Sapa)
What to expect:
On this trip you will have
opportunity to meet several different minorities, which cannot be found in other
areas of Sapa, such as Tay and Xa Pho. Even though they live close to each
other, the Tay is one of the most advanced minority meanwhile the Xa Pho still
maintain the tradition of being nomadic. You will also enjoy beautiful landscape
in Ban Ho valley.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa - Ban Ho - Sin Chai

The day commences with a drive to the trekking
route. The trek starts by walking through the incredibly scenic “Ban Ho” valley.
Here you will have the opportunity to visit and explore the wooden houses, which
traditionally belong to the Tay ethnic minority. You will then continue to walk
to Thanh Phu village where you stop for lunch in a local house.
After lunchtime, you head to Sin Chai village of
Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo huts. You will be
attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 1 hour

Day 2: Sin Chai - Nam Nhiu - Nam Than - Thanh
Phu (B,L,D)
Today’s trek takes you through
several villages where you will be able to meet Tay, Hmong and Xa Pho ethnic
minorities. You will have time to photograph the beautiful rice paddy terraces
and the surrounding mountain. On the way you will visit a local school. Your
lunch will be prepared and served in a local house.
In the afternoon, you head back to
Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you will spend the night. You can take a
walk to explore local daily life while your dinner will be served with
Vietnamese dishes.

Day 3: Thanh Phu - My Son - Nam Toong - Sapa

On the last day of the trek you
will cross several suspension bridges and trek through lush rice paddy fields
and stunning scenery. You have a unique opportunity to meet Xa Pho minority in
My Son village, one of the smallest group ethnic living in Northern Viet Nam.
They always maintain their unique costume and nomadic life. You trek uphill to
Nam Toong village of Red Dao minority, where you have lunch in a local school.
In the afternoon, your trek will be
firstly downhill to Ban Ho village where you will have time for a swim in the
river. You will then climb toward Su Pan. The car will meet you there and return
you to Sapa.

Note: The walk from
Ban Ho to Thanh Phu and Sin Chai is mostly on
the main dirt road.
Trek through
Hoang Lien National Park to Ban Ho Valley, ref: T3B

What to expect:
The trip offers you an opportunity
to explore one of the most beautiful parts in Sapa area, which is under
protection of Hoang Lien National Park. The night you spend in campsite nearby a
river will be memorial moments along the trek.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa – Tavan –
Seomity
(L,D)
You will go south by car toward
Muong Hoa valley. Your trek will begin from Tavan village of Giay minority. The
first day trek will be mostly uphill. Whenever you stop for a rest, you will be
able to enjoy valley view. Before noon, you stop again at a nice spot for lunch.
The trek will be softer in the
afternoon. But the scenery becomes even more beautiful. You pass by Seomity
village of Black Hmong minority before you arrive in a campsite, which locates
nearby a river outside the village. While porters put up tents and cook dinner,
you can take a walk to stretch the legs.
Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 0,5 hour driving/ 4 hours
walking/ 1 hour lunch
Day 2:
Seomity
– Den Thang – Ta Trung Ho (B,L,D)
The trek today takes you through
beautiful rice paddies and over old suspension bridges.
You will trek on small trail sneaking through rainforest. You arrive in Den
Thang village of Black Hmong by noon. Here you stop for lunch either nearby a
river or in a local school according to the weather.
After lunch, the trek will becomes tough on
tinny footpath going up and down, which requires some concentration. You will
reach to Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao minority where you spend the night in
local house. Both the valley and the village have just received foreign
visitors. The night will be even more interesting when you are in the wonderful
hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.

Day 3: Ta Trung Ho – Nam Toong – Ban Ho – Sapa

You are now at the fringe of the rain forest by
the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina with
its 3143 m, is located in this mountain range. You will start the trek today by
ascending to Nam Toong village of Red Dao minority. Here your lunch will be
prepared in a local school.
In the afternoon, before descending to Ban Ho,
you can make a stop by a waterfall to refresh.
On the last hours you can enjoy the
valley one final time while trekking up to Su Pan, where your car takes you on
the journey back to Sapa.

Note:
The trek is tough. The itinerary can be changed due to high water level in the
river between Seomity and Ta Trung Ho. There will be no toilet facilities along
the trek. Toilet tent will be provided.
Trek through Ban Ho Valley to
Lao Cai, ref, T3C
(Sapa – Thanh Phu –
Sin Chai – Ben Den – Lao Cai)
What to expect:
The trip takes you to one of the
most remote area where you can meet very friendly locals. The night you spend in
bamboo hut built by Topas in the hilly ground of a Red Dao family will be a good
experience. The trip also offers you opportunity to enjoy wonderful scenery,
which is still well protected as well as meet Xa Pho minority, the unique nomad
in Northern Viet Nam.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa - Ban Ho – Nam Toong -
My Son - Thanh Phu (L,D)
You will travel by car to Su Pan
from where you will commence your walk downhill through the breathtaking
scenery. On the way you will pass through the Ban Ho village where you will be
able to witness the stunning views of the valley and rice paddy terraces. You
will have the opportunity to explore the Ban Ho village of Tay minority before
crossing the suspension bridge over the river. The walk then continues uphill to
the Red Dao minority village of Nam Toong, where you guide will prepare a
delicious lunch either in local school.
After lunchtime, you descend to the valley where
locates My Son village of Xa Pho minority, one of the
smallest groups ethnic in Northern Vietnam. From there you take a short walk to
Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you spend the night in traditional house
of the Tay. You can
take a walk to explore local daily life while your dinner will be served with
Vietnamese dishes.

Day 2: Thanh Phu
- Nam Cum – Sin Chai

Today’s trek will be relatively
short and soft. Once leaving Thanh Phu, you follow the trekking route built in
the bottom of the valley, which offers the best view to the surrounding
mountains. You stop at a nice spot for lunch.
After lunchtime, you continue the walk toward
Sin Chai village of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo
huts. You will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red
Dao.

Day 3: Sin Chai – Nam Ket – Ben Den – Lao Cai

After a good night sleep in bamboo hut, you wake
up for an early breakfast and repack your luggage for the long trek heading
toward Lao Cai.
Once you leave Sin Chai, the trip takes you into
a fabulously mountainous area, the most remote part of Sapa. En route you meet
children’ curious eyes as you are very first tourists passing by. Red Dao ethnic
minority inhabits the entire area. You will enjoy the fresh of bamboo forest and
jungle until you make a stop at Nam Ket for lunch.
After lunch, your trek will be mostly downhill.
After about half an hour, you will have an opportunity to enjoy one of the most
beautiful views of days over a green valley lying along the Red River. You
eventually arrive in Ta Thang village of Tay minority. Here you will be
transferred by car to Lao Cai.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 0.5 hour driving/ 7.5
hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Note:
This trip will easily combine with the transfer to Lao Cai railway station
without repeating the way nor passing by Sapa.
Muong Hoa valley

What to expect:
On this trip you will trek along
Muong Hoa River sneaking through the valley nearby Sapa town, which is
surrounded by huge rice paddy terraces.
On the way you will
learn more about the different process of making rice field to the
rice is on the dinner table. The night you spend in Tavan village, the unique
village in Sapa area where Giay minority live, will be an excellent experience.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa – Sin Chai – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho

You will travel by car mostly downhill toward
Sin Chai village of Black Hmong minority, which locates right at the foot of
Hoang Lien mountain range. Here you start heading up the mountain. Once you get
to the top, you will trek on a small trail with spectacular view and then
gradually descend to Cat Cat village, where you will have lunch nearby a
waterfall.
In the after noon, you take a trail sneaking
through mountain. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a
narrow river you eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority,
where you can take a rest in a nice spot nearby the beautiful river. You will
stay overnight in Y Linh Ho, due to season it can be in local house or in tent
camp.

Day 2: Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai – Tavan

Today’s trek will continue along Hoang Lien
mountain range, which offers you many opportunities to enjoy view over huge rice
paddy terraces in Muong Hoa valley, the largest one in the area.
After having lunch at a nice spot, you descend
into the bottom of the valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black
Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very
popular trekking route. You spend the night in a traditional house of Giay
minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as
swim in the river nearby.

Day 3: Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan

Today’s trek is short, but still the landscape
is beautiful. Once you get energy for your last day trek after having breakfast,
you leave for Giang Ta Chai village where you can take a rest nearby a waterfall
to enjoy the surroundings. You will continue trough a bamboo forest, and when
you have passed the forest we find a nice place to enjoy lunch.
After lunch the walk continues
through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village.
After taking a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh, you continue on a small trail
towards Supan where your transfer back to Sapa is waiting.

Note:
According to the weather, the first night will be spent either in tents of in
a local house. Toilet tent will be provided. The trek is trough some of the most
well known areas of the Sapa valley.
